Description
- Drive a normal, steady line through Turns 1 and 2 to generate initial surface temp in the tires without sliding them.
- When you hit Turns 3 and 4, swing the car wide toward the fence.
- The Run-Up: Cut down aggressively late in the corner to create a completely straight line coming off Turn 4. Start accelerating as early as possible so you cross the start/finish line to take the green flag carrying maximum momentum.
- The Entry: Charge into Turn 1 deeper than you would in the race. Use the fence markers (lift near the “1” marker) and drag about 20%–30% brake pressure to force the weight onto the nose.
- The Apex (The Diamond): To get the car to rotate quickly without snapping the rear, execute a tight qualifying diamond line. Drive right down to the first bottom seam/apron line, but let the car float up a few feet past the center of the corner.
- The Exit: Crank the steering wheel to intentionally snap the nose back down toward the track. The moment the car points straight down the backstretch, roll immediately to 100% throttle while opening up the wheel.
- The Entry: Take a slightly lower entry angle than you did in Turn 1. Lift completely just before the track surface bump at the entry transition.
- The Center: Roll your left-side tires over the bottom seam. Do not let the car float up as high as it did in Turn 1, because Turn 4 narrows up significantly near the wall.
- The Exit: Pin the car to the middle-bottom lane through the apex. Look for the “NHRA” sign or the “2” marker on the outside wall—the moment you align with it, flatten the steering wheel and floor the gas to drive straight off the corner to the checkered flag.
Race Setup
A balanced, race-ready setup built for high-speed stability, consistent long-run pace, and strong corner-exit speed as the tires begin to wear.
The race setup is designed to remain predictable in traffic while giving the driver enough versatility to move between lanes, manage dirty air, and maintain momentum throughout a fuel run.
Qualifying Setup
A faster, more aggressive setup designed to maximize aerodynamic efficiency, short-run grip, and single-lap speed.
Setup Notes
Helpful notes from our builders covering driving feel, preferred racing lines, throttle application, dirty-air behavior, and what to expect as the run develops.
IRP rewards drivers who can stay smooth, and manage tires. Hit the track with a setup built to deliver speed, stability, and the confidence needed to race to your best ability with Precision Speed Solutions.
